Attachment Anxiety Moderates the Propensity to Benefit from Social Support (“Yielding”)

Abstract

We investigated whether the propensity to benefit from social support (“yielding”) is stable across social contexts. We found that higher yielding to a partner corresponded with higher yielding to a stranger at the group level, but also that anxious attachment corresponded with lower yielding to strangers.
