A Light in the Dark: Happiness and Subjective Well-Being in the Dark Triad

Abstract
This study examines possible adaptive features for the Dark Triad. Three personality types characterize the Dark Triad: narcissism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism. We found that narcissism, but not psychopathy or Machiavellianism, is positively related to happiness and subjective well-being.
