Abstract
Foster youth perception of ILP services as helpful predicted increased perceived instrumental support, only among youth with more external locus of control and lower self-efficacy. Greater perceived instrumental support in turn predicted increased satisfaction with life. Externalizing control may be a uniquely adaptive strategy for foster youth in procuring support.
