Understanding the Unique Needs of Middle School Teachers and Students in Different Urban Contexts

We examined the needs of students and teachers in urban middle schools in high versus low income schools and across public, private, and charter schools. We found significant differences in behavioral concerns and parent involvement and shared experiences with professional development, teacher stress and burnout, and teacher-student identification.
