Abstract
Our study examined the within-person relationships between fathers’ negative work events and next-day father-adolescent conflict and activities as mediated by fathers’ work-to-family conflict and negative mood. Results were consistent with the theoretical model, showing support for both depletion (via negative mood) and compensation (via work-to-family conflict) pathways.
