Abstract

Although numerous studies have documented an association between discrimination and internalizing psychopathology, there is scant theoretical and empirical work establishing cognitive and emotional mechanisms through which racial discrimination predicts these outcomes in African-Americans. This study tested a new etiological model of the role of racial discrimination in internalizing psychopathology.
