Decision Making Is Systematically Affected By the Properties of the Physical Environment: A Challenge for Replication Studies

While there is some research suggesting that the physical environment can acutely affect cognition, its effects on decision making are largely unknown. Our results suggest that making decisions in a cubicle (vs. the very same desk without a cubicle) systematically shifts risk, time and effort discounting preferences.
