Abstract
Associations between relationship-contingent self-esteem and both depression and relationship satisfaction were found to be moderated by anxious and avoidant attachment, self-compassion, and subcales of authenticity, supporting the notion that the influence of relationship contingent self-esteem on both mental health and relationship functioning may not always be detrimental.
