Public School Funding Is Related to Student Outcomes in NH

Abstract

The role of funding in k-12 student achievement has long been debated. Here, funding of New Hampshire school districts was related to student performance on standardized tests and college-bound rate. Controlling for district wealth, cost per pupil and teacher salary were significant predictors, accounting for 36-56% of variance in outcomes.
