Abstract

Eighty-four adults reported earliest memories with a two-year time lag. Participants who remembered the same memory had earlier earliest memories than those with different recollections. When analyzed separately for memories experienced before and after 4 years old, the difference disappeared displaying the critical role of the method of analysis.
