Abstract

We considered the concept of social comparison to be important in explaining traffic speeding. Based on social comparison theory we assumed drivers will not speed in case of a low traffic intensity, speeding will rise with growing traffic intensity, yet by reaching saturation in traffic intensity speeding will be reduced.
