Turning a Blind Eye to Potential Costs: Ostracism Increases Aggressive Tendency

Abstract

The current research found that reduced sensitivity to costs of aggression mediated the effect of ostracism and aggression. Moreover, warning ostracized people about potential costs of aggression effectively weakened their aggressive tendency. These findings highlights the significance of cost sensitivity in understanding various behavioral responses following ostracism.
