Abstract
Evaluations and reasoning about helping others were highly sensitive to situational features such as cost/benefit to agent/recipient, relationship between agent and recipient, the recipient’s goal, presence of rules about helping) among college students. Variability in evaluations of helping may contribute to situational, individual, and cultural variability in acts of helping.
