Abstract

Lifetime stress exposure is associated with impairments in executive attention tasks, but the mechanisms behind these impairments are unknown. To address this, we assessed lifetime stress exposure and Stroop task performance, which was subjected to cognitive modeling. Greater lifetime stress exposure predicted less controlled attention and a larger decision boundary.
