Abstract

Participants undergoing affective depletion (n=21) showed a shift toward more negative interpretations of ambiguous stimuli (p=.019) compared to those undergoing cognitive depletion (n=21; p=.719). Mouse trajectories suggest that, after affective depletion, participants experienced increased response competition for positive images (p=.001) and decreased competition for negative interpretations of ambiguity (p=.047).
