Abstract

A previous study found a relationship between alcohol intoxication and a behavioral analog measure of deliberate self-harm (DSH) under controlled laboratory conditions. In this follow-up analysis, gender moderated the relationship between intoxication and DSH. Intoxicated men engaged in the most DSH while non-intoxicated women engaged in the least DSH.
