High Proportional Cue Validity Reduces Letter Identification Times in Complex Tasks

Abstract

How frequently a cue is correct, or proportional validity, had a considerable effect on letter identification time during a cognitively complex task. Participants learned to trust cues that were more consistently correct even when completing a challenging letter identification task without any information or instruction about the cue.
