Gratitude Induction and Death Anxiety in Elderly Japanese People

We investigated whether brief gratitude induction can reduce elderly Japanese people’s death anxiety but not their positive or negative affect. Results showed that gratitude induction had no influence on death anxiety but improved their affect. These findings suggest the need for reconsideration of gratitude induction effects on death anxiety.
