Discrimination and Depression in Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Adults: The Role of Emotion Regulation

This study investigated how sexual minorities use emotion regulation strategies to cope with discrimination. Using an experimental task, we found that participants use both adaptive and maladaptive strategies when faced with discrimination. These findings point to the resilience of this community as well as potential avenues for intervention.
