Abstract

We investigated college students’ preferences for self-disclosing to computer-based systems as substitutes for face-to-face clinical interviews. Our results suggest college students strongly prefer self-disclosing to face-to-face interviews and questionnaires over systems such as avatars and computer agents. Our thematic analyses provide insight into participants’ perceptions of these computerized assessments.
