Abstract

Limited research has examined working memory in relation to maladaptive behaviors (e.g. substance use, binging) associated with emotion dysregulation. Results from lab assessments and experience sampling in a clinical sample suggest that as scores on an emotional working memory task decrease, the frequency of maladaptive behaviors increase.
