Abstract

Ambulatory, cardiovascular monitoring and daily diary reports indicated a positive association between sleep quantity and next day high frequency-HRV, an index of parasympathetic activity. However, the association was moderated by diagnostic status, indicating that adults with psychopathology may not derive equivalent, next day parasympathetic benefits despite equal hours of sleep.
