Children's Happiness from Giving: When Experience and Expectation Diverge

Abstract
Two studies examined whether 5-year-old children experience happiness after giving to others and whether they believe that individuals experience happiness from giving. While children are happier after giving than after getting resources (Study 1), they actually expect individuals to feel happier after getting than after giving resources (Study 2).
