Abstract

The current project demonstrates how shifting attention internally influences how muscle activity and movement combine for haptic perception of object heaviness. An internal focus of attention increases muscle activity and increases the saliency of movement for perception. Importantly, these results demonstrate that shifting attention changes how action leads to perception.
