Abstract

This study examined the effect of the self-affirmation bias on cisgenderist attitudes with participant gender as a mediating factor. Results yielded a significant effect of gender in mediating cisgenderism, although no significant effect of the self-affirmation bias was observed. The role of perspective-taking in altering the self-affirmation bias is discussed.
