Abstract

Most studies focus on “bottom-up” or automatic ways threats are perceived and “top-down” factors (e.g., contexts, prior cues) are understudied. We show that prior knowledge regarding threat and its probability facilitates perceptual decision-making by biasing towards threat decisions which may due to precise cortical representations of threat before their arrival.
