Abstract

Evidence shows that people who hoard anthropomorphize objects. However, the role of the affective aspects of social cognition have not been investigated. To fill this gap, the present study develops a scale to measure anthropomorphic empathy and compassion that predicts hoarding behaviour over and above established anthropomorphic scales.
