Transgender Children’s Recall for Gender-Typed Images

Abstract

Similar to gender-typical children, transgender children show better recall for own-gender gender-typed images, than own-gender counter-stereotypical and opposite-gender images. For transgender children, this indicates heightened attention toward acquiring knowledge about the gender they identify as, rather than their sex at birth.
