Abstract

This study explored the influence of early-life (between ages 0 and 3 years) environmental unpredictability and environmental harshness on fifth-graders’ behavioral functioning directly and indirectly through children’s self-regulation in preschool. SEM revealed that early-life environmental unpredictability and environmental harshness make independent and differential contributions to Grade 5 behavioral functioning.
