How Ethnic Minority Status and Past Incarceration History Influence Risk for Suicide within a Homeless Population

Abstract

Amongst the homeless, findings suggest that ethnic minority status and past history of incarceration are unique factors that influence risk for suicide. The results also indicate that there are differences in how suicide behaviors and risk are experienced among previously incarcerated homeless individuals who identify as an ethnic minority.
