Abstract

We examined relationships between personality traits of the five factor model, especially conscientiousness, on appraisal, systolic blood pressure, and other physiological reactivity to an acute laboratory stressor. Results demonstrate that individuals high in conscientiousness exhibit more adaptive appraisal responses and tend to exhibit greater increases in SBP during the stressor.
