Abstract
Across two correlational studies, we provide evidence for the unique personal and interpersonal consequences of existential isolation (EI; feeling alone in one’s experiences). Over and above interpersonal isolation, high EI predicted low levels of self-control and self-esteem, as well as high levels of depression, anxiety, stress, and aggression.
