Preliminary Examination of Intraindividual Dynamics between Suicidal Ideation, Self-Harm Urges, and Emotion in Early Sessions of Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents

The present study uses an idiographic, data-driven approach to examine intraindividual dynamics between borderline personality disorder symptoms to provide actionable information that may be used to individualize evidence-based treatment. Two exemplar cases will be described in detail to highlight the strengths and challenges of this approach.
