The Relationship between Right-Wing Authoritarianism and Prejudicial Attitudes Toward the Homeless: The Role of Empathy

The homeless are a vulnerable population, experiencing decreased mental/physical health and increased social stigma. We tested whether empathy and perspective-taking mediated the relationship between right-wing authoritarianism and prejudicial attitudes toward the homeless among undergraduates. Empathy was found to mediate the relationship between RWA and prejudicial attitudes toward the homeless.
