Abstract

This investigation examined the effects of perfectionism on depressive and anxiety symptoms in college students. Individuals with higher perfectionism at baseline experienced increases in depression and anxiety. Additionally, perfectionism interacted with life stress to predict depressive, but not anxiety symptoms. Theoretical and clinical implications are also discussed.
