Abstract
Fast mapping is essential for language learning as children cannot be explicitly taught all possible words they must know. We tested whether 2-year-olds could utilize fast mapping (and extension) of nouns, adjectives, and verbs on a new tablet-based language screener that tests vocabulary, grammar, and word learning processes .
