Imposter Phenomenon and the Social Experiences of Nontraditional College Students

Abstract
We investigated the relationship between imposter feelings and social experiences among nontraditional undergraduates. After their first semester, students who reported more imposter feelings felt less like they belonged, had a larger gap between desired and actual closeness with classmates, and were more likely to not have any friends on campus.
