Abstract

Since very few studies have directly assessed stress exposure occurring over the entire lifespan in Brazil, we translated the Stress and Adversity Inventory for Adults (Adult STRAIN) into Brazilian Portuguese. The instrument demonstrated very good concurrent and predictive validity, and was generally unrelated to personality factors that could bias results.
