Abstract

This study (N = 301; Mage = 37 yrs) examined the Big Five as predictors of different motives for using a smartphone. Hierarchical regression analyses, controlling for demographic variables, revealed that extraversion and neuroticism were consistent predictors of smartphone activities, including leisure (e.g., playing games) and utilities (e.g., taking pictures).
