Inter-Partner Violence and Work Outcomes: The Moderating Role of Instrumental and Emotional Support

Abstract
This study demonstrates that a greater frequency of physical violence by one’s partner results in greater absenteeism, lower presenteeism, and lower task and contextual performance. However, receiving instrumental and emotional support from friends/family attenuates the negative effects of victimization on work outcomes.
