Abstract

This study tested relational regulation theory’s hypothesis that ordinary conversation can explain perceived support’s links to emotional well-being. College coworkers rated each other in a round robin design. Ordinary conversation was very strongly correlated with perceived support, and the two constructs had the same pattern of correlations with emotional well-being.
