Abstract

We evaluated whether a personalized music playlist for nursing home residents with dementia positively affects their dementia-related symptoms. We documented significant improvements in agitation, neuropsychiatric symptoms, and depression, but not cognition. This suggests individualized music listening can improve the quality of life of older adults with dementia in long-term care.
