Cultural Differences: When an in-Group Member Is Ignored

Abstract
Two studies showed that Koreans experienced negative emotions equally strongly regardless of whether they (or their in-group members) were ignored. In contrast, Americans and Canadians showed greater reactions in the self condition than the in-group condition. Interestingly, positive experiences failed to replicate the cultural differences.
