Abstract

Research on the role of implicit knowledge in analogical thinking is inconsistent. In the present study, we explore the role of implicit memory accessibility during analogical problem-solving. Results showed that reduced access to previously inhibited information influenced analogical reasoning unwittingly. The results are discussed in terms of inhibitory control processes.
