The Revelation Effect Occurs in Individuals Who Shift the Criterion in Response to Task Demands

Individual differences of the revelation effect were investigated. The revelation effect occurred in participants who adopted a more liberal criterion in response to the ratio of old to new words, but it did not occur in those who did not adopt the criterion.
