Spontaneous Interpersonal Synchrony Increases Infants’ Helping Behavior More Than Non-Spontaneous Synchrony

Abstract

The results of this study show that infants were significantly more likely to help the experimenter after having spontaneously synchronized to her movements during a in tale reading session, compared to infants who participated in a non-spontaneous synchronous session where an assistant held them to bounce in-synchrony to the experimenter.
