Abstract

An Emotional Stroop Task assessed reactivity to cancer-related words using reaction time (RT) and ERP (P300) measures. Contrary to hypotheses, participants with a family history of cancer, compared to those without, had significantly faster RT and lower P300 amplitude to cancer words. These results have interesting implications regarding threat reactivity.
