Genetic and Environmental Influences on Changes in Optimism over a 20-Year Period

Abstract
The current study examined the coordination of levels and changes in optimism in a sample of 613 twin pairs followed over 20 years. Genetic and environmental influences had a largely static effect on the development of optimism in late life. The mechanisms driving changes in optimism over time are discussed.
