Abstract

Recalling autobiographical memories (AM) impacts future intentions and behaviors. Two experiments, a 3(memory content: diet, exercise, work) x 2(memory frame: unsuccessful, successful) and a 2(memory number: single, repeated) x 2(memory frame: unsuccessful, successful), demonstrated that recalling AM affects intentions to control dietary intake and clarified how AM direct future behaviors.
