Perceived Peer Drug Use Relates to Personal Drug Use Among Stressed College Students

Abstract

College students overestimate peer drug use, which is typically associated with higher personal drug use. This relationship may be stronger among students who are highly stressed. Our results support this hypothesis, suggesting that stress plays an important role in college drug use.
